“Originally from Lancaster Pennsylvania, my family moved to New Orleans in 2007 to help rebuild the city after Hurricane Katrina. My wife is a physician and joined Ochsner Medical Center’s Family Practice Department. I volunteered full-time for several non-profit rebuilding organizations including Habitat for Humanity where I initially gutted houses and then worked with them rebuilding houses and I helped them build the Musician’s Village. After that, I became a home inspector getting my license about 8 years ago. Along with my wife, we have two children and two grandchildren so far. Currently serving District 3 on the Louisiana State Board of Home Inspectors. I learned home construction at an early age with my father, Douglas Brunet, who was a building contractor and eventually a home inspector. He was one of the first members appointed to this board. He impressed upon me the importance of quality work for our clients who are trusting us with one of their largest investments, their home. I am honored to be part of a group tasked with maintaining the high standards this board has developed over the years.”
